About
Blurred Lines, an idea born out of a spontaneous brainstorming session, in a post-hike drive through Acadia National Park with a group of my closest friends. These cherished companions, fellow immigrants who, like me, embarked on their American journeys 5 to 10 years ago, became my anchor amidst the unpredictable waves of life. Within our circle, we shared insights on the the little things— identifying the ideal winter jacket for navigating Chicago's sub-zero winters, exchanging meal-prep strategies, and offering investment wisdom. Yet, it was in discussing the not-so-little-things that we found our most steadfast support—the all consuming job hunt, grappling with homesickness, getting passed up on promotions, negotiating salaries, sharing therapist recommendations while we weathering the extended periods of SAD, navigating the American healthcare system, and watching our parents get a little older every time we saw them.
We all find ourselves putting on varying amount of accents, struggle with finding confidence in a room that looks nothing like us, and measure ourselves against a one-dimensional yardstick of success that holds no resonance with our holistic upbringing. This seemingly personal experiences that we all have was actually a deep communal experience once we shared it. We found ourselves navigating these nuances better and started anchoring in this new found confidence in our collective experience.
What if we could multiply our voices and anchor even deeper, and rise even higher? That was the motivation for Blurred Lines. We are so excited to invite you in :)
